Great analysis of the game, and all I have to say merely enforces your comments. Blaine Hudson’s distribution was the worst since Marie Antoinette tried to distribute cake! I forgive Smith’s poor distribution because he’s so good at what he can do well. Moving from woeful distribution from defence to the midfield, it isn’t either Harris or Clarkes strongest card, and thus we ended up with the attack living off scraps (and none of it cake, more like gristle). I’d give a lot of credit to Clarkes disciplined performance and one gorgeous turn in the first half. Wilkin really earned his money and its fantastic to see a change so early when needed. We didn’t get out of jail free today, they gave us compensation and a written apology from the Queen on our release!
A word on Jennings: He’s a terrific talent, but I think he’s not always making the best decisions at the moment. When Bish came on he was happy to pop the ball about simply and let Moulty run the show, it made for faster attacking. When Jennings gets it right we’re into a whole different level of football, but what he tries to do is very, very difficult.
