VOTING FOR THE FOUR PLAYER OF THE SEASON AWARDS HAS OPENED, SO LET’S HAVE A LOOK AT THE RUNNERS AND RIDERS. EVERY DAY UNTIL SATURDAY WE’LL GO THROUGH THE CONTENDERS FOR ONE OF THE TROPHIES
A side which earned promotion after racking up a 100% record in the league is obviously going to be jam-packed with stars, but the legendary feats of a striker catches the eye.
THE CONTENDERS
Rosie Hughes’ scoring record is phenomenal. Like Mullin, she’s an all-round striker who can spark a deadly thrust on goal from anywhere in the opposition’s half. Pace, dribbling skill, the ability to finish: she has the full arsenal of weapons a striker requires.
Once again, there are many other deserving cases, though. Del Morgan is an obvious one: very little has got past her this season, and her heroics in the promotion play-off will live long in the memory of all who saw them.
The quality of Amber Lightfoot and Rebecca Pritchard, either side of Hughes in the attack, has been crucial too. Lightfoot has been prolific, and a constant threat with her ability to beat a player on either side, while Pritchard’s experience came to the fore when it matters with the decisive goal in the play-off.

Lili Jones is a remarkable force of nature, able to excel in defence or midfield despite her youth, and a regular scorer in the youth side with her spectacular long range strikes.

TJ Dickens is a superb combination of guile and graft in the middle of the pitch. The back four is peppered with players who have done themselves proud, even when injuries have limited Steve Dale’s options.
PREDICTION
Despite all the fine performances, it’s really hard to look beyond Rosie Hughes for the award. Morgan and Dickens are good calls for the podium.
