We could do with a spot of redemption tomorrow as we have a dreadful record against Dagenham and Redbridge. In three matches we’ve lost two and drawn one, and are yet to score in 270 minutes.
Both times we’ve travelled to Victoria Road we’ve lost 3-0 – this season’s defeat would have been much worse were it not for the excellence of Shwan Jalal. At home we’ve at least managed to avoid defeat, but that clash wasn’t much of an affair to celebrate. We entered into the match, in March 2008, desperate for a win as we sought to avoid relegation to the Conference, but despite dominating the game were unable to manage a breakthrough and had to settle for an unsatisfying goalless draw.
That was the second game in a sequence of seven which yielded just two points and essentially rubber stamped our relegation from the Football League.
