gateshead_huddlePositives:
A disciplined performance against a side that protects the ball well – we were patient when out of possession and didn’t chase the ball reckless, but pressing judiciously.

Dean Keates in midfield pulled the strings with authority.

The energy of Joe Clarke in an unfamiliar position.

Some elements of the diamond worked, not least the security given by the extra body in the centre of the pitch.

Andy Bishop did a lot of work closing down the Gateshead centre backs and disrupting their passing rhythm from the back.

Negatives:
Missed chances- there weren’t many but Bailey-Jones’ 93rd minute opportunity and Luke Waterfall’s free header with ten minutes left were good ones.

Wes York struggled to threaten through the middle.

Louis Moult showed nice touches at the top of the diamond, but should he be higher up the pitch where he can get on the end of chances?
